Jasmine Singh Rosado (b. 1994) is a Puerto Rican and Punjabi Oakland-based artist. As a multi-ethnic queer woman, Rosado's work centers heavily around liminality: the state of being between two different points in time, space, or identity.
Through her use of color, light, and materiality, she creates spatial realms that invite viewers to join her in exploring the beauty, complexity, and endlessly fascinating territory of the in-between. She utilizes unconventional materials, such as transparent silks and vinyl, to create a canvas that acts as a portal to see beyond the art itself. Her use of organic forms, expressive color, and unconventional materials make her work visually engaging and emotionally resonant.
“Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to create work that encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences of transition and transformation, while also celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.”
